Get to know Broomfield CO!
Broomfield is one of Colorado's more unusual towns in that it is both a city and a county in its own right. Possibly named for the broomcorn that grows abundantly, this sprawling city found itself being served by four different counties at one point. In order meet resident needs more efficiently as the population grew, it applied for and was granted county status to bring public services under one roof.
Visitors will find marvelous shopping opportunities at the popular FlatIron Crossing mall. Due to a supportive business environment, Broomfield is also home to specialty cookie company Mrs. Fields, along with several technology companies and other large corporations.
Broomfield is also home to the 1st Bank Center, bringing a variety of attractions to the area through concerts, trade shows, rodeos, circuses, and other community events.
Residents can find a variety of outdoor activities on the extensive trails and parks system, which includes a well-appointed skateboard park and three golf courses. The centrally located park, the Broomfield County Commons, features recreation center with a plethora of activities for all to enjoy - from the rock climbing wall, to the lazy river, as well as other indoor and outdoor activity areas.
